There is so so much I could write about movies (or films as snobby me prefers having managed a film theatre for many years aka an art house cinema) so instead of rambling on for pages and pages I thought what I would do for this post is revisit the films of my teenage years. The ones me and my friends rented every single Friday night for our sleepovers and the same ones that I turn to now for comfort watching when I feel under the weather or a bit down. Some might call them “chick flicks” and some of them would fit that category but they are also so so much more. To keep this interesting I have only included my favourite lines for each fillm, nothing else. I think you’ll all know these films inside out like me. How many have you seen of these? In no particular order, because that would just be too hard!
10 Things I Hate About You
Michael: The shit hath hitith the fan… ith
Patrick: was that a yes?
Kat: No
Patrick : Then was that a no?
Kat: No
Chastity: I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed but can you ever just be whelmed?
Bianca: I think you can in Europe
And absolutely all of Walter Stratford’s lines!
The Craft
We are the weirdos, mister.
Light as a feather, stiff as a board
Clueless
Josh: hey James Bond, in America we drive on the right side of the road
Christian: Do you like Billie Holiday?
Cher: I love him!
Josh: Be seeing you
Tai: Yeah I hope not sporadically
Never Been Kissed
Oh my God, someone ate my entire pie!
I’m not Josie Grossy anymore!

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.
I thought the ending after the credits were Bueller tells the audience to go home was just the coolest thing ever. Also anyone else read Toddler to their kids with the same Bueller, Bueller voice? Just me…

Almost Famous
I have to to home.
You are home
So Russell, what to you love about music?
Well to begin, everything

Empire Records
Basically every single one of Lucas’ lines!
Damn the man
Do you think I will be held responsible for this?

  1. I have to confess I haven’t seen most of these – I love Ferris Bueller though. I’m a secondary teacher and have had to resist the ‘Bueller? Anyone? Bueller?’ on so many occasions 🙂 #blogtober
